What’s the survey about?
We would like to know something about your expectations of teaching and learning,
and about your opinions of the academic and support services we provide. We also
want to know how you feel you are progressing in your course, and whether you believe
it is meeting your academic needs.
The survey is divided into sections, seeking information about --
- how well you have settled into University life;
- your views about your course experience;
- what you think about the resources and networks and advice, which support your enrolment
and connections with the University;
- your use of, and views about, University services such as health, counselling, student
union services; and
- you, so we can better target services to students' needs.
The last section gives you the opportunity to provide general comments about your
experience.
We also invite you to volunteer for further research so that faculties and services
can follow up your suggestions and ideas.
Your answers will be treated as confidential, and will be used only within the University
to help us improve our services and for quality assurance purposes. Data will be
aggregated, no responses will be linked to identities, and no student will be named
in any reporting of data collected. After analysis, results of the survey will be
reported to Academic Board, senior management, faculties and service units, including
various committees where students are represented (eg, Melbourne Experience Advisory
Group).
All currently enrolled first year undergraduate students have been invited to complete the survey. Other students are not required to complete the survey this year, but may be invited to do next year.
The survey will take you about 15-20 minutes to complete.
